AI data centres: coordinate fibre, power and cooling before installation
Archive focus: May 2026 · Prepared 17 October 2026 · XConnect FZE

Retrospective: This article was prepared on 17 October 2026 for our May 2026 archive. It is a technical review, not a report of a launch in that month.
Technical context
Panduit’s AI data centre materials bring fibre connectivity, power and cooling into the same infrastructure discussion. This May archive article is a technical retrospective rather than a dated launch report. The planning lesson is that the physical network must fit the rack and facility arrangement used by the selected computing system.
Practical implications
The following is XConnect’s planning interpretation.
Coordination becomes difficult when each discipline signs off its own drawing in isolation. A route that looks clear on a network plan may conflict with another installation or obstruct service access. Review a combined rack and pathway layout with the responsible teams, and settle sequencing before materials arrive. This helps expose practical constraints while the design can still be adjusted.
What to review
- Review cable entries and service clearances on a coordinated rack drawing.
- Assign responsibility for resolving conflicts between installation disciplines.
- Include an inspection point before the first complete rack is repeated.
